Re: Leonidas
In the units file it is starfortress, and on your hud it is starfortress, but I think that it would be spelt Star Fortress... Just my opinion though.

Either way it's a great little thing to hide in your cargo hold, takes up very little space and has a HUGE effect when you jettison it....
I wonder what happens if I mount one as a turret.

Re: Leonidas
Using Starfortresses as mines has to be the most creative cheat I've heard lately. I found the capship missiles that launch fighters (dostoevsky.escort, nicander.escort, goddard.escourt, etc) to be a lot less useful than you might think. Sometimes they fight the enemy, but usually they head for the galactic rim.snow_Cat wrote:Either way it's a great little thing to hide in your cargo hold, takes up very little space and has a HUGE effect when you jettison it....

There are two speeds in combat: stopped, and as fast as you can go. Unless you run into something, going fast keeps you alive more often than stopping.

Re: Leonidas
What, you mean you made a turret shoot them and stuck the turret on a capship missile? Seems to me like your going a little out of your way, considering you can make your gun literally shoot a fighter instead... Actually, I take that back... You can make your guns shoot literally ANYTHING in the units file.

Re: Leonidas
Actually, the capshipmissile is the strongest weapon in the game... with 54 trillion damage!!! However, capship missiles can be shot down by pd turrets. I remember trying to fire some at a leonidas, and they were obliterated about a tenth of a second after I launched them.
The unknownheavybeam, in comparison, does around 43 million, making it the second strongest weapon.

No man, I think you are confusing Capital IFF missiles and the real anti-capship AH missiles. The last does around... let me count... 5.4E+11 MJ damage.
Enjoy.

In universe self-describing one-liner which is pretty pathetic.

Re: Leonidas
5.4E+11 = 5.4 x 10^11 = about 540,000,000,000 = 540 billion. I'm pretty sure the capship missiles do somewhere in the range of 5.4-54 trillion damage.
Capital iffs only do around 2500 MJs
