Planetary textures
I have made some planetary textures with a photoshop plug-in (LunarCell) that I recently discovered. This could improve the planetary textures. Anyone interested ?

SURE! Man, take a look at the current planetary textures. they really need attention and this looks like it!
A Step Into Oblivion
Dreams of things that will never be,
Songs of thoughts only I can hear,
Leave me be to sleep forever,
To dream my dreams,
And sing my hymns,
Of things that will never be...
Dreams of things that will never be,
Songs of thoughts only I can hear,
Leave me be to sleep forever,
To dream my dreams,
And sing my hymns,
Of things that will never be...

They are completely new textures. The earthlike one is created so that it looks a bit washed out (just to have more diverse looking textures and not all look the same), but i have also lots with "stronger" colors. I will upload a link later this day with a zip file containing a few dozens of textures so that everyone can find textures for its own taste.that someone can grab them from this thread, they look nice
especially the earthlike/biodiverse one needed a revision, the current texture looks washed out.
did you make them in the right aspect of the existing textures?

Actually, Klauss is right, you could imagine an ecosystem where most of the water is constantly cycling and where is not very much need of oceans. This would work only on a planet with not too much temperature differences.on the forest planets: I think there should be more water or else what feeds so much green?
Just a few more:
The m class planets:
And some tundra:

Oh... I meant to commit them, but I've been having other pressing issues and some... connectivity trouble (to name it something, but not accurate).esgaroth wrote:I just named them moon textures due to their similarity with good old luna. Course they can be used for planets, too.
BTW, I will remove them beginning of february, so anyone who likes them should download them soon or PM me.
I would appreciate your mailing them to my gmail account (klaussfreire) - the entire package. Downloading them one by one is ugly at my present situation (troubled connection at home, can't really download tons of images at work).
I'll try to pick and commit soon, no kidding.
