Stuck in an Asteroid Base

A home for tales of personal killcounts and engagements between vast armadas, as well as the odd recounting of that time you saw an alien capship taking out a mining base while trying to parallel park.

Stuck in an Asteroid Base

Post by Munno »

I am stuck inside the asteroid of an asteroid fighter base in Agea I think, I can see and dock at the docking stations, but I am not inside the "tunnel" into the asteroid. Im stuck inside it. WTF am I supposed to do now!!!??? I'm getting fed up of restarting -_-.

The Asteroid fighter base is bugged.
Your best best is to go back to an old savegame or hack yourself to another location in the savegame file.

Ok, I'm now going to ask how can I hack myself to another location? (Preferably Serenity or Atlantis...)

Have a close look at the first line of the of your save file then compare it with the newgame file that should give a good idea on how to do it.Don't like telling guys how to do something this simple when with a few hints mean you learn something and it sticks because you figured it out on your own 8)

Enjoy the Choice :)

In the root folder data whatever along with master_parts_list.csv and the master copy of vegastrike.config i say whatever because it's data4x in the stable version and just data in the svn version.

Hmm, I tried to hack myself out of the base by changing the coordinates, but somehow this doesn't work for the AsteroidFighterBase. Replacing the relevant line with, say, a clean Cephid17 line works fine though, and changing the coordinates there also has noticeable effects. Any hints what else I might need to do?

Edit: Maybe I should rather add the code to show what I mean:

Code: Select all

Izzptipt/Ull^2804598.250000^Llama.begin -8480454406.978415 27792875257.293034 16885224792.645399 < ORIGINAL (stuck in the AsteroidFighterBase)
Izzptipt/Ull^2804598.250000^Llama.begin -8406.978415 27757.293034 16792.645399 < EDITED (still stuck)
Crucible/Cephid_17^2804598.250000^Llama.begin 119995654485.117828 -8407564.236940 -109995963203.340668 < WORKS
Edit 2: What's more, I always start exactly at 0 distance to the base.

I have been playing Vega Stike for about 6 months now but i have noticed that if you dock with the asteroid base and then save and reload, you will be suck in the middle, but if you do not reload while dock with the base, then you should be able to launch with no problem.

Me, I've always found it easiest to blow the base up with some torps.
