Err... yeah, well I suppose you can talk about other stuff as well, maybe?

Is there actually an Earth?

Post by warpnoob »

I noticed the many adverticements for joining the army and defending Earth on the loading screen, but I haven't ever seen Earth. Is it there, and how do I find it?

It's #3 planet of Sol system [Confed] in Sol sector. ;) Earth got 1 planet type satellite named Luna + 4 Starfortresses [Purist].
Sol system has jumps points to: Proxima Centauri, Alpha Centauri, Alpha Canis Majoris, Red, Epsilon Ind, Alcestis, Telamon - all in Sol sector, of course.
As in, it's one of explicitly written (not generated) and as such explicitly textured systems. :D So are Sol/ Alpha Centauri, Iris, Regallis, Crucible/ Cephid 17 (it would be awkward if folk accidentally started new game in some hellhole of a battlefield with all planets being dead methane snowballs and no protection or viable income sources) and Redemption/ Bernards star.

It's a series of 14 jumps from the starting system I keep a text file on my desktop so I can answer without any brain work :) so here it is

Code: Select all

Route to Earth: from Chephid_17 for the game Vega Strike

Chepid /Chepid_17 -->Strirling -->Agea -->War -->
Magellen /Steakley -->Theta-Ant -->Tesc-1613 -->
Sol / Hhrass -->Ktrk-pah -->Prithivi-mata -->Rudras -->Cairo -->Ogawa -->Telemmon -->Sol
Enjoy the Choice :)

Why don't I start on Earth anyway? Would be the #1 choice for me. And not somewhere in nowhere around a star that doesn't even exist.

The background story, and quest. It's not like you would have lots of run-ins or could plausibly engage in [s]smu[/s] [s]cont[/s] small package delivery in Confed capitol system. Or get a quick profit as a small privateer, to think about it.

Besides there is a war going on in the start of the game in the Sol sector you would handed your ship in small pieces on your maiden flight lots of Arean merchant marines about and pirates BTW the system is not human controlled :shock:

Enjoy the Choice :)
