elite: dangerous

Post by charlied »

Hi all for those that don't know, a sequel to the daddy of all space trading games is on kickstarter called elite dangerous. Designed one of the original guys who designed the original game. I personally have pledged 20 pounds, it seems a small price to pay to see a modern vision of what Elite could become, with a multiplayer universe promised!

I hope this project will be able to get sufficient pledges, despite it being sandwiched between the just finished Star Citizen and soon to begin Infinity fundraiser. That is, I hope Star Citizen left enough funds in the wider space flight simulator community to fund at least one of the two very well.

And then if Elite: Dangerously puts out some video of high quality, up close procedural planetary surface detail, it will probably mop the floors with Infinity even if the latter can do a better job of it at the moment. If they have some planet porn videos to unload in the final 30 days, with quality at least between that of Pioneer's and Infinity's, I think Elite 4 will easily end up with a good 2 million pounds.

Of course they might already be at a million if they'd come up with a better subtitle. :P
