I always get a bit confused as to what is damaged on my ship, so:

maybe a graphic rpresentation, maybe under a new Repair Center, next to the Upgrade Ship, that shows your ship, what is damaged and how badly and where. Repairs can then be optional, for those pilots that are a bit strapped for cash.

@xopher425 have you cyleed thru the left VDU "m" the second is damge control it lists your ships sub-systems and heath in % handy to ckeck during a fire fight nice to know that your shields are down to 40% before you shoot.
