Vega Strike Forums

Hello to all!
I've already been 10 hours trying to install VS in my Xubuntu (based on Ubuntu12.10), with no succes.
Last year I managed to install it in other versions of Ubuntu, but I don't know why I can't now. I tried the regular instalation with the repository (impossible), but finally I tried to compile.
It looks I have the same problem as the 12.04 user, since I get the same massage at the same point:
./bootstrap-sh: No such file or directory

However, I don't understand hot to solve this problem, so I can continue.
Any help would be really apreciated.


btw I can't find my config.log... this system makes me crazy...

Why doesn't the repo work?

ok! Thank you for your help. I was mislead by some of the old tutorials.
Now i finished the compilation. But when I write "vegastrike" they tell me they didn't find the command.

I don't know why the repo didn't work. The process is quite messy. If i can't compile it right I will try again tomorrow...

./vegastrike

ie: you have to include the path, it's not on your search path until you install, and installing with make install doesn't really install the game - just the binary.

So, best way to run the game, cd to your data folder, and type <path-to-build-folder>/vegastrike. That ought to work.
