I have the current VegaStrike sources from SVN.
I found in trunk/win32/bin a file named vegastrike.exe.
Am I right if I say that I don't need to compile the SVN sources because there is a binary in it?
btw: Is there a way to ask the binary for its version or revision number?

Re: Binary in SVN?
Hm... I tried to replace the complete bin-directory with the bin-directory from SVN.
VS starts but there is a unspecific runtime error at the start screen (with the nice gir on it).

Is there anything in the stdout.txt and stderr.txt files that gives any indication of what the engine thinks it is trying to do.

Re: Binary in SVN?
Ah, now I use the "bin" AND the "data" directory for my VS installation.
This work.
I can see the tutorial. Very nice!!!
But my ship is attacked. There are a lot of hostiles around me.
So I am switching back to the current official release and waiting for a new official release.
