Nice textures. I will start replacing existing textures with the forest ones.
The forest texture looks actually like a caribbean one. I would suggest to make a pure forest texture with less water, though I might find use somewhere else for this one.
Do you have any idea which existing textures the moon textures could replace?
The weird textures could go well to replace the lava or molten textures. I will analyze it the next days.
Generally, though your textures are already stretched vertically, it would be preferable to have at least 2048x1048 textures.
And I still have to see if they are conforming to the remaining requirements: http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/wiki/ ... t_Surfaces
Last: What tools and technique did you use to create this textures?

After some testing, I have substituted and committed the following textures (i.e. converted esgaroth source to png and renamed to original name):
original / esgaroth
red_rocky.png / weird3.jpg
rock.png / moon4.jpg
rock_water.png / forest2.jpg
rock1.png / rock1.jpg
rock2.png / rock3.jpg
rock3.png / rock2.jpg
rock4.png / rock.jpg
j_class.png / moon1.jpg
j_class1.png / moon2.jpg
j_class2.png / moon3.jpg
Lava1.png / weird1.jpg
Lava2.png / weird2.jpg
It still would be nice to have them in a higher resolution though.
At least 2048x1024 (or if they must remain stretched vertically, then 2048x2048) in order to improve the level of detail when closing up on a planet.
Due to the low resolution of the submitted textures they will remain marked as development quality.
