Some ship prototypes (pictures and .wings files) for a mod I may get around to producing : )
light figher/interceptor/scout

medium fighter

Heavy fighter/bomber/patrol ship

This is something I've been planning for a good long while and I'm not much of a modeler, but I've got a rather thick skin so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Oh hey!
Pretty Good. I like the Osiris.
It;s funny coz I once had a ship with the working name Skate too (the proposed rep for Dodo).
Looks low poly and very easy to unwrap and texture too. Try texturing it.

A Step Into Oblivion
Dreams of things that will never be,
Songs of thoughts only I can hear,
Leave me be to sleep forever,
To dream my dreams,
And sing my hymns,
Of things that will never be...

Songs of thoughts only I can hear,
Leave me be to sleep forever,
To dream my dreams,
And sing my hymns,
Of things that will never be...

Nice work
I like the Skate, it has a simple shape but with enough detail to make it look more complex. Im sure that with putting more work you wil make fine ships.
And as Oblivion likes to say, you only need a good texture to make them look great

Skates Mk1 and Mk2 looks like Stargate's F-302, but i really like it (and I like Stargate SG-1 too).
Congratulations.
Congratulations.

Thanks.
daschapa: I did not recognize the resemblance. And honestly I still don't (but I've seen my fair share of sg1, who knows how influences work on your subconcious) but thats probably because I'm seing it from the inside out, so to speak.
So, for what it's worth, the skate is a interceptor (MKI) or light fighter (MKII, the "tail is actually for additional power generation for sheilds and mounting a subspace coms antenna) that is built from recycled/ reclaimed/ repurpoused materials, hence the large flat panels covering the surface. the centeral section is just large enough to house the ships electronics and the pilot (in a prone position) Its focus is on self contained modules, engines and weapons running from seperate power generators, no environmet control outside of the flight/vacume suit (no worries about violent decompression, if your suit gets hit you're probably toast anyway, yay!), standalone _short_ range comms. it even has a small porthole mounted in the front for emergency landings (use a flash light to signal flight deck and the only ingress/egress is though a "manhole" type hatch on the spine. whew. that was a mouthful... now back to work.

np, it's hard to tell without a texture anyway. the only thing that gives away the aft are some rectangular looking "thrusters" which come to think of it... arn't in any of teh pictures. slow (very, very) slow progress on texturing. I always got high marks in ceramics, but sucked at teh watercolors
