Well, after long concerattion with myself, in in full acoord with my little personn, decided to create a newx faction , "former legions".
Following to my last screen shots, a new one, :

Looking really cool! more factions will make VS a lot more interesting, especially with dyanmic universe. I like the ship, but im wondering what the gizmo on top is? Giant archiac engine? (since what i've heard the legions have a sizable but low tech army)

inside of a big archian, Im planning a huge ship more like the bad's one in waterworld, you know a big iron wreck, rusted in fact

why are there these brown lines on the edges of your texture?

would you be willing to make a nice jump wormhole--your texturing skills are impressive

well I don't really now, I always select don't draw edges in uv mapper properties, and I always check on my image that polygons recover each other. I got many texturing problem with wings, only the last version let me work on bigger than 512*512 textures. might find maya, I got it on linux partitions, but might be hard to export from Maya to wings.
I noticed that when I desactivate antialiasing It seems more discreet on boards.

I might do the wormhole, how would you like it?

or more flat?
maybe a black animated rotating texture (with some color dots disformed by the speed)?
I think it could be interesting to make something udge, but I create a polygon model might look like old spectrum games, not really realistics ;)
I can try with a big poly count in the center, and textures with big alpha channel on boards?
Have you got some other ideas?

hmm maybe make it the v shape

I'm not too picky as long as it looks like a portal of some sort

anything is better than a blue ball in space that looks like a "transparent planet" to newbies

if you remember hellcat, I have a really old wormhole mesh that I did ages back........the texture on it was really cool, and so was the mesh....I just hadn't done an alpha channel to make the edges of the wormhole "fade out"......if you want this as a temp, or if someone just wants to make a alphamap for it then great....

if I can find it....

I spent ages on that texture (animated) to make it look "just right" :-)

ok, i'm beginning to have something which can be seen on each angle and dont take too much memory. I created a circle and i "degraded" the alpha channel from center to extremities, and I revolved the circle many times to make it look like a sphere. By this way I can "emulate" fog and amny other things. It might does not take many poly memory but texture memory grows up, working on it I'm looking for free textures sites to find some textures of a sky with stars. Have you got some links?

I can't point you directly to such an image, but
in the wiki is a list of texture resources (though a very small one)

well the textures for wormhole are rendering for more than 3 hours (blender +radiosity on windo$$). I got a new ship if want to wait with?
(early beta, not sure for turret, and general shape is early "concept car", I'm interogating myself since the beginnin,g of the afternoon to model some new turrets, but ...)

really simple: I like this shape. look in star wars, X wings has atmospheric reactors :D

and in addition I decided to make a race based on former technologies, like during industrial revolution, when certain firms still had some huge carbon machines, and others electrics motors ;)
Plus many types of "anachronic" machines have always existed, see http://prototypes.free.fr/fr1/fr1.php3?page=1, and bimodal reactors are studied for commercials "orbitral planes"

hmm....damn...the textures in this zip are only 256.....I made 512 ones (which would be better suited).....plus I have the original .max file too somewhere.....

maybe on my parent's windows machine....
