Hi!
Have anybody created special weapons like plasma burst with good looking tail. Can you point me to some information about how-to create it? I need Romulan Plasma torpedoe for VegaTrek mod and skills for future requests. But have no idea how to do this.
Please, need help!

If you want a good looking tail, you might want animated textures. Not sure if it's possible though...
...wait. Discontinuity bolts, flak cannons and nav lights were animated...

I also would like to know if animated textures are possible??
For example, I would like to create a large advertisement board beside one of the stations. One which changes images every 4 seconds, is that possible?

I'm still thinking about those animations. The nav lights had separate bmp files for each phase, not a gif animation. The wormhole on the other side was rotating itself, cause the texture was unanimated too.
hmm. Suppose it's possible. Like putting the advertisement as an engine light with custom animation. Only I have no idea about timing.
From tomorrow I'll be gone for some time. maybe 2 or more weeks.

Yes, it does support animated textures.
you convert them to XMESH and instead of texture="blah.jpg" you put animation="blah.ani", and create an .ani file somewhere in the proper format (take a look at other .ani files in VegaStrike and you'll get the picture). Basically, it uses a number of still images in .png or .jpg and plays them at a specified inter-frame interval. Sadly, I don't think there's a way of specifying them without going through XMESH

Well, I just made mesh. Is there any opportunity to make "tail" rotating dynamically during game? Or maybe there is some way to make "tail" looking like small "cloud" from particles?
