Pretty simple, but effective, IMO. Did you plan the cooling systems for the gun? Could be a good reason for adding more detail. And I think that making some parts have different materials could do well too. Keep it up!

depends on what should be its purpose, i dont really think it should be different colors - i can imagine that equipent in space would be rather simple shaped and box closed ( for safety and preventing dust to enter the chassis ).
the cooling system ? - you have -240 celsius in space i think :P so you have natural cooling system . i could add some detail to the model but images are pretty small in the equipement dialog so i dont think it would be readable.

If I think right, there is no temperature in vacuum, cause there is nothing to be heated and there is no air to balance the heat. (you probably know that) :)
Do what you like with it, I only meant that the gun looks to me like it's made in one piece :P

Perhaps you should wait for somebody else's opinion; I might be completely wrong here.

In space there is no air, therefore no way to cool anything by airflow. In fact, even inside, like in the ISS or in the shuttle, even though there IS air, there is no "convection cooling", due to the lack of local gravity. Hot air cannot rise, since there is no "UP" direction, and therefore **anything** that produces heat needs a fan to cool it. But to get back to outer space, the "temperature" of space measurements are based on incoming radiation alone. So, even though it may seem ultra low, it does not help in cooling anything. The ONLY way to get rid of heat in space is to radiate it. And the amount of radiation per unit of area of a black body is proportional to the fourth power of its temperature, so active cooling, heat pumping, pelletier devices... The bad news is that a gun would produce so much excess heat that even a dozen square meters of radiant surface wouldn't suffice; but the good news is that none of the VS mods pay any heed to the fact...

That gun looks good!

Sounds good... better check that we need a turret first, though.

Too bad Development:3D Models doesn't have a list of turrets.

Oh, form-fitting shield meshes aren't too hard to do.. they just need to be a slightly larger and lower-poly version of the hull.

Looks cool!

I like it better than the current "oxygen tank" looking ones.
