Not sure ergo, will check it out.

As for what else to do. Jump drive? Radar or ECM units? I can come up with more if you want :-)

I'm going to include them if nobody minds.

What I'd really like to be replaced are the reactors. Could you please do 5 versions (increasingly larger) for each of the following types, i.e.,
a) 5 miniature reactors / micro fuel cells for small vessels
b) 5 standard reactors
c) 5 capship/station reactors?

Go right ahead Zeog :-)

And ergo, zeog's requests have priority... he knows more about what we need there than I do :-)

unelated to new content - a number of the current equipment images have noticeable aliasing, and, more (de)pressingly an unfortunately unsightly halo around the edge (where one presumes they were trimmed for transparency). If anyone has the time, a little bit of cleanup/sharpening looks like it could go a long way.

@ergo - Congratulations are in order :) Huzzah!

How about not making any of the backgrounds transparent? Save them all as jpgs. It looks really bad, when some cargo are full squares while some are transparent with jagged edges. :(

EDIT:
Oh, I missed that thing with the BA. Congratulations. :D

Anytime, please. I'd love to include them. Although, I haven't mentioned it, please do them in a way one could recognize them as human technology. A style like that of the capacitors and the shields would be just great.

 sorry.

I meant the way the images have been divided into two main types:

a) Square pictures (no transparencies).

b) Alpha'd images.

The problem is with the second, not sure if it's all fixed now.

I was reacting to JackS' observation:
a number of the current equipment images have noticeable aliasing, and, more (de)pressingly an unfortunately unsightly halo around the edge (where one presumes they were trimmed for transparency).
So I'm suggesting to avoid transparencies in cargo images. Give them a nice neutral background. Or better yet, you could render them directly into png's with an alpha layer (it gets better results when you need transparencies). The last option is to use some image editting program to select create the transparency manually.

I admit the pics with transparencies look better, but are incongruous, especially when most of the other pics all show backgrounds (e.g. dolly the erotic sheep, :P ).

BTW: Congrats! And good luck with the reactors. :D

i will stand with the transparent png's ;-) i make them 24bit so the backgrounds can be added with 2 clicks :] it wont work this way with solid backgrounds , so you can choose how to implement them . IMHO transparent looks better :D

soon i will start playng with reactor, have almost 15 gb of textures so they should look better :D

besides i render for transparent backgrounds so there should be no problems with my images :] i will try to correct hhe jagged ones too

..yeah. 8) They do look better, but be careful with setting the transparencies, alright? And making it 24bit with a 64x64 (??) image will not add that much to the file size,.

click..armed and loaded.. ka-shak. :P

erm.. i dont use blender so i dont know how this works ther, but in 3d max when i render i can choose full bit png, and transparent background, it works the way you saw earlier with my works. as for the images that are jagged, i will try to correct them in my spare time with photoshop, gimp is not so good at this kind of tasks.

Yay!! :D

Fellow Maxer!

I'm on 3dsmax as well!

Yep, that's what I was suggesting.

I do suggest changing the background color to something that isn't on the image itself. like horrid neon green, or pink, , it would amke it easier to just selct regions by color, reverse select, then crop it. though, by then aliasing would be a problem.

PS I think JackS wasn't referring to your works when he commented on the jagged edged stuff. In my experience doing it the way you do, it always spits out perfectly scaled and alphad images, no aliasing or jaggedness at all. So it's not a problem at all, methinks.
