I'm trying to make some uv-maps and it seems that uv-mapping in Wings3D is getting more worse with every version. This time I get the error message "numeric problem". I remember that errorneus areas were highlightet after an error, but it seems these days are gone...
Is there a better tool for uv-mapping than Wings?
How do you uv-map?

Just downloaded Blender and found a good video tutorial for uv-mapping
It's much better and more comfortable than Wings

You might want to try out this automated UV unwrapper script, called ArchiMap UV Unwrapper for Blender.
Author's page
It creates a scaled and optimally aligned UV layout.
It's quite usefull, but don't rely absolutely on it.

Thanks a lot, that helpedNózmájner wrote:Try to select the mesh you want to unwrap, change to UV Face select mode(f), go to the UV/Image editor window, and use the script from here, from the UVs menu.
I've heard about UVmapper, you can vu-map directly on the mesh.
But I think I stay at Blender, when I have some time I will take a look at its modeling capabilities
