Not bad, but I still find the ones I pointed out earlier to be the most dazzling. :D

This one is nice.

Nope. That was exactly as it is supposed to be written (see A Human's Guide To Writing Rlaan Love Songs in the English Alphabet by Hikari Smith, Rlaan Briin Archives publishing, ©3101).

Sorry for my useless posts here. Couldn't resist.. :)

I added 8 new screenshots to my gallery: Page 4 and 5.

Finally I made vegastrike working with my linux, so these are the first screenshots I made on that platform.

Cool!

The new eclipse ones are sweet. I like the full solar eclipse a lot. The partial eclipse reminds me of a shot I took a while back. I think we may have even been in the same system :D

The taizong shot is cool too, very mysterious.

@CoD. I can't see em. :( I saw Halleck's eclipse though. COOOL 8) Reminds me of mucky foot's logo.

... now a challenge. Take a screenshot of a planetary alignment eclipsing the sun (or suns if you could. hehe  )

I'm sorry Oblivion but I worked a lot on my system and I wasn't able to check the VS forum.

Planetary alignment ?? Nooooo! I spend 15 minutes moving the camera until I reached a full eclipse... I think it would take me hours  :D

BTW: are you still unable to view my gallery? What elements can you see?

Weell... I get redirected to the webpage, but the pics all show up as X's. No amount of refreshing makes them show up. ;) But I'll take Halleck's word for it. :D

hehe.. the challenge was a .. well.. challenge. Anyone who can take that one shot of planet's lining up together. Gets to win a all-expense paid, round-trip ticket to southern Alpha Draconis IIIb.

Oh, If this is the prize I'll try

For the images.. that's strange: I can see them perfectly... maybe it was a problem of bandwith (it's a free web service.. not much quality)

I'm not sure Alpha Draconis III's moons are what you would call idyllic. :D But if you want to. hehe

I think it's a problem of locations. Maybe the photos don't show up when th browser's half the world away. hehe. But it's all right. Just add it to the gallery maybe?

Yes.. I'll add them ASAP... I just have tol find a minute

I have a hacked Tesla, as well as some hacked Aera capships. If you guys want capship pictures, I'd be happy to take some for you.

In fact, I already have some.

But I haven't uploaded them yet @_@

0.5.x Screenshots

by Halleck
As we gear up for the release of 0.5.0 pre in August, I think we should refresh our current official batch of screenshots to show off the new art and increased level of artistic consistency and unity since 0.4.3.

Here is an example from me of the quality we should be aiming for:
http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/galle ... temId=6994

A few of the current 'official' screenshots are classic such as this one from peteyg that we use for the manual cover:
http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/galle ... temId=5059

But some others have vestigal 0.4.2 and lower art that need to be updated (archived and replaced.) For instance, I re-took my old 0.4.2 aelar screenshot in SVN a little while ago, here's a comparison:
http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/galle ... temId=5080 - original
http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/galle ... temId=5188 - re-shoot

So really we want to be showing off new system backgrounds and planets, plus of course new models.

Please upload submissions for the 0.5.x official gallery to the user screenshots gallery and link to them here. I may start a new 'contest thread' if we need one as we get closer to release.

Oh, you don't need to log in. Just go to the user screenshots gallery and then add items.

This uploads as guest, so if you want to make sure you're credited, put your name after the caption text.

We should think about rounding up a new batch of screenshots for the 0.5.x release...

Here's one that I just saw in the user gallery. It's gorgeous.

I have no idea who took it but it would be great to include in the official gallery.

I can also take a new batch of shots to showcase the new art that has been added since 0.4.3.

What do you think about my Goddart Sundive?

See also Gothcha or Coming Home

Nice Sundive looks a bit washed out to be expected with the sun as back drop but Coming Home is beautiful the texture on the research station and with the Goddard to provide scale 8)

Enjoy the Choice :)

The shots are nice. My favorites are the fighter-barracks and definitely the winner llama-flyby.

The login is not working, but you can still submit to the users gallery.
Unfortunately you'll not be credited for this uploads. It would be nice to see who uploaded a certain screen shot. Not sure however who could fix this.
