The models are generally a bit low poly though.

Those look like some twisted pirate ships. Personally I like them, even though the first one looks a little bit inconsistent withe Vega Strike thruster style. Though games a game, a simulator is a sim. Just make up a fun explanation :) then I would vote to put it in.

I picked a bad example actually. The Vandal is a bit too "cartoony" for my taste. The Kanara I think is even elegant, Lo-Poly or not.

Here's one I think could fit Vega Strike.

Indeed, it's a lot like the thales.

Too bad it doesn't include a texture job. If there's anyone willing to do one, and assuming the license is OK with openSuse too, we might include it.

PS: And assuming the license allows derivatives, we'll probably have to mod it somewhat to bake stuff.

This is what openSUSE says about license of content. They don't specify what licenses are acceptable other than:
...It must have an open source compatible license...
Since Debian accepts the license, and they're particular about those things, it's a clear go.

Yes, openSuse allows CC-BY-SA, they don't allow any of the NC or ND. Not sure about Debian (I think they allow NC).

No, we're not there yet. We're in the phase "We have a model but no textures, and no-one knows or wants to produce them".

But yeah, after the textures there's that other phase.

Hey guys

Actually I have a slightly different version of that ship under the name "Sleepership V2" which is textured so you can use that one if it fits your style:

NC and ND are considered non-free by Debian, if I read the following link well:

I don't know where you get the NC and ND terms from and you are quoting an older version of the CC license.

In contrast to the CC-SA 2.0 license, version 3.0 is considered to be compatible to the DFSG.

Oh, I was just saying in case not all models there were licensed under the same license.

Yeah, it looks doable. I'll have to take a look and see how hard it is to bake all the stuff we have to bake. As for the rest... any idea where this model fits? (ie: in the wiki there's a list of unfinished models, preferrably some place related to the thales)

I think there are a few open slots for colony ships in the unfinished section.

Cool - being a sleeper ship, it doubly fits.
