Fighter concept

Post by Phlogios »

Image

Drew a ship today.
Use it for inspiration if you want. Make a model out of it if you want. I won't sue you.

Good day.

Almost looks like something from the old Battletech tech readouts. Could make for an interesting atmo fighter or low orbit interceptor.

Single seater, two light guns, single top mounted light missile pod. Not sure if it has dual drive systems or two/three engines and three/two mine droppers/decoy launchers. Might be also used as deployable wingmen on medium transports. Interesting design.

I might be able to do an obj or 3ds of the base mesh, but details are a bit beyond my ability level. So, anything I make will have a low poly count, and not be mapped for textures. Then again, just fleshing it out may bring more interest.

I'm thinking the top part probably doesn't need a thruster, it will only make the ship spin hahah
Maybe you could place jammers there!

It will be fun to see what you can make out of my amateurish concept art! :D Do it!

Expansion/engine pods have the basic shape done, as is the nose cone. Building the rocket launcher next. The main body is giving me some trouble. Is it square, cylindrical, octagon? Top looks flat and boxy, but a box there doesn't come out quite right. Front view makes it look kind of like a half moon.

The front view was a bit inaccurate, revised it so it looks more like I imagined it.
The blue lines are rough indicators for how the fuselage is shaped.

That's going to take some thought on how to pull off... Thanks for the clarification.

Use the concept art as inspiration! My images are not a ship request, they are just there to inspire you.

Problem is it's such a great design! I like it, just not sure how to do a complex shape like that (I'm not a skilled modeler, but I do enjoy trying it from time to time.), so I'll just have to see what I can do.

Looking blocky so far, but here is my first attempt (without the main hull)
