opening .ani files

I have serched but was not able to find a program that can open / construct .ani files. Could someone tell me what program to use?

They're text files - you can use any text editor.

Thanks alot, that was a pretty easy solution! I see how the animation is set up and I have had some luck making changes to some of the art work in the Privateer gold animations but the explosions are giving me fits. I get a nice big white square where the explosion is suppose to be.

I am using .png set at RGB with an alpha layer for the transparency which is black. I suspect that it is a pallet issue that is messing me up but I can't seem to figure out how to get past this issue.

Any thoughts or insigts?

pallette?

Support for paletted textures in VS is... sketchy.

Make sure the PNG is 32 bits (888 RGB + 8A).

Other than that, it should work. Do you see anything in the logs?
