i moove the Artwork Part for 2D landing layers in this thread
i will explain the template (need making right english sentences for explain clearly ......)

The 2D landing layer should represent:
-landing view (with view of your current ship)
-concourse(or another location place depend to base you are landed/kind of room,depend the kind of base, species, ..maybe something like "optional room")
-bar/contact room

I don't have commit access so I can't do it myself, but could someone put a file in the masters directory for stock VS content, that way we can build up resources for artists to use, )e.g. if we still had the original 3d files for Strangelet's bases they could be updated etc.) and there could be a page in the wiki listing all the resources available. Fendorin's modular station stuff could go in there as well.

Fendorin, do you mind taking the files as .3DS rather than Obj (As I add smoothing in Wings (because Modo uses a sui generis smoothing model) and it doesn't export Obj files with smoothing properly)?

3Ds or Obj is a same for me (i haven't any knowledge in 3D comparaison)and most of Software can open it
Anyway i will open it with blender
-(i think about a tiny object like table,chair ,glasses, screen..and other furnitures...etc they could be colored instead to be textured and maybe in the future a lot of furniture will be in "synthetics-artificial-synthetics-acrylics" called SASA for shorter terms! then no need wood effect or texture effect the AO should handle the shadows and detail on the model, the LOD is no lod is for Render 2D picture then no limit (except the computer working-render time ))
but large installation (Habitat,fort,landing,pad,hangar)should be uv mapped if you can just create mesh objects, without materiel and post the 3DSfiles)for me is already very very usefull/good
At the moment the mor difficult task for me is seems to be the interior views i m not so good in "inside" setting light/reflectivity

but anyway post/divshare it/upload-&-post-the-link.it

And about Strangelet's works maybe you should poke him directly on "angels fall 1st universe world" or "deviant.art" (Our Vega-turn-away Oblivion still be here too)
propose an exchange between their works and our works?

I like the Fendorin Corporation advertisement, but the correct phrase in English would be "We build your dreams"

I think advertisings are the place where you see most examples of bad English. I could really imagine such a mistake on top of one of the towers in Frankfurt, as its hype to speak bad Denglish in Bankfurt. And there will be hundreds of people pointing to that sign knowing it better. But thats the way adversing works. You remember that sign, so it did its job.

Hello here the Source File for the City landing roof, (landing layout)

And i worked over Bars Template: first conclusion is utopia/dream to made a graphic bar's template
-The best way should to be have a tiny exterior view : windows an on the half top of the picture
-It didn't work acceptable than the Landing pad layers, it not nice when the two layer are mixed/.
-The focal, Fov and the "Ambient light" are to different between the exterior terragen view and the bar interior view

here an exemple of bar interior (isn't the GAGARIN's bar):

Then the best template should be very simple:
-3 or more "Table" not to much effect on table like mirror table or glasses table otherwise is will be not acceptable with the different fixer.
-1 "desk bar" for the bartender
-and... what you want....

It should be helpfull if some english fluant (not like me) could help me for write a How to in Wiki page for Write all information i found over this work.

@Rivalin could you post the your model mesh (3ds, Obj, or blend file)

I like those tables Fendorin has any one though about putting a few chairs for non humans in the bars.

nice stuff, Fendorin.

Here's the files for most of the stuff done so far, hopefully they're useful. One set has basic material groupings (not actual materials, just separate areas on the model) applied, as they're quite high poly and selecting different parts manually poly by poly would be quite a lot of work.

I've done them as Obj files, hopefully the smoothing won't be a problem in Blender's renderer.



ps @Pyramid, noone bothered to respond to my above request for some kind of folder in masters for stock models to be put in, so that people can reuse "props" when making their own base scenes in future.

Nice bar, rivalin.
None of the project lead devs are around and not sure when they will be again. I'd suggest to create new "assets" folders for modular components:
* For landings and bars: trunk/vegastrike/masters/sprites/bases/assets
* For stations: trunk/vegastrike/masters/units/installations/assets

Let me know which files to commit and I can do that for the time being.
