Vegastrike Ship Model Textures Tutorial (1)

Post by RUNLEVELFIVE »

Hello,

Since I am new to the VS development I am going to log what happens when so maybe at each step of the way someone could look at what is happening and later on we could build a set of Development Tutorials. This is going to be my look at modeling texturing large vessels. For starters we are using the VITIK.BFXM ( one of the first models to be done for VS i am to understand ). These tutorial will take place on both UBUNTU LINUX and Win32 platrforms using the following software.

Linux: GIMP - Wings3d - Blender - MapZone ( work under wine just fine) - XnView for DDS textures (convetered .RPM to .Deb via Alien)

windows - see appz above...

Day 1 - Convert the model and import into blender
windows: mesher.exe vitik.bfxm vitik.obj
Linux: ./mesher-32 vitik.bfxm vitik.obj

using the vitik.obj and a visual design guide I remodeled in blender images attached...
