Great. ***why haven't I thought about that?***. The wrapper fix is committed to svn but I think still a new exe would be required as I have renamed some hard coded .spr references to .sprite.

Oswald changed his ship back to an upgraded Robin. I had a lot of difficulties with the Progeny not slowing down quick enough and crashing into the player. I could increase the stopping distance but it wouldn't be fun at all watching the tutor from 5km away. As a remedy Oswald's Robin has been upgraded and he has already "fighter ace" AI. It is still possible to kill him, but not easy at all, and as you say, the newbe probably won't be able to do so, while the experienced pilot will know what he does.
If I could reproduce the pirate/luddite invasion, it would be easier to code that protective role. But then, I leave this suggestions to willing followers wearing python shoes.
