Gemini Gold Quine Computer

I hope someone here can help - I tried privateer.sourceforge.net forum with no success.
I have some vision impairments so I hope there is a solution that someone knows for this concerning the Quine computer in Privateer Gemini Gold.
The green background with the Text colors used are difficult for me to see and read.
There are two problems, one of with I can resolve but does not solve the 2nd problem and in fact makes it a tad worse. Here are the 2 problems:
(1) the text doesn't have enough contrast for me, aka the Fin and Manifest and Save/Load text.
(2) when saving you have a black box to type in and not bright text color to type.
Now I can solve problem 1 by editing the Quine PNG file in PaintShop Pro and changing the Green background color to some other brighter color so that the text contrast is much greater and thus easier to read. But that doesn't help problem 2 and in fact the new brighter background color makes the black filename typing box and text even harder to see.
So, does anyone know if in the vegastrike.config file there are any color references that I could change to make the Text brighter or White or something or in any other file?
(I don't particularly mean "just" for the Quine computer but that will affect it even if it affects text someplace else or not)
