I was trying to clear out a system of all aera ships. I was closing in on a Agasicles deep inside a gravity well. I wisely saved at the planet before I went in for the kill. Then I unexpectedly exploded. I was confused and assumed I was hit by a missile of some sort. I tried to get within weapons range of the Agasicles again and the same thing happened. That's when I figured out my enemy was somehow inside the planet and I was hitting the ground. Check out the distances shown in my hud.
Unfortunately this put an end to my plan to kill said Agasicles with missiles.

Was it part of some mission?

Clean sweep mission. Why do you ask?

Yep, there's already an issue for it. I thought as much. Now it's a matter of fixing it
