Don't worry, you aren't the only windows user :-)

I'm a musician, so if I were to swap completely to linux, i'd lose my beloved fruityloops (now known as FL Studio). Not to mention photoshop.

That kristal program definitely looks like its worth checking out. At first looks, it doesn't do anything that I can't already do with the software on my pc, but it definitely looks like it could be a great way to do things, since not everybody has the musician's will to spend all their money on musical tools like I do :-)

However, the music I write is all sequenced, so I don't think i'll be using that anyway.

here's one that i've found a transcoder handles video and audio streams and there multiplexing it's a windows app that runs under wine quite happily http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net
