Hello new Shaper ship

Cultivator
Shaper newest mining ship half size of clydesdale

-unarmed and high manneouvrous
always under protection of fighter ( the ressources is vital for war economy!) and good for mission/campaign


one free idea ( because shaper are not a big unity)

the shaper replace tool for extract by a armement and use civilian boat for make a trap ....
exist a "boat trap" version especially armed for killing "light" aera scout
Maybe when aera will had a corvette!!
stand of near asteroid like work occupation and wait aera squad ..... ( or other faction) for after destruction or capture ship.

Fendorin, you're a bit too indiscriminating in your Specularity/Per-Pixel Lighting Map tho. It's shiny all over.

Spec maps are easy to fix tho. Areas beneath the armor should not shine as much. But anyway, it looks great too. Gives the illusion of the substructures being behind transparent glasslike material.

Because: What is this ???? "bump map " and "Spec map"

i tryed to understand but i m very stupid also just i make ship .
But i want understand and make that.

How to ...?

And exist a teaching for that? ( or teacher..........maybe?)

i never learn 3d program and other applications ( my job is very far to computer...)

i know just use my mouse and tape words with pad.........

Fendorin. you're already good at texturing. Spec maps and bump maps are actually just tweaks of the main color (diffuse) map.

Normal maps are a bit more difficult to make, but is worth it, if you do it right.

Anyways, a spec map and a bump map would tremendously make your ship prettier.

(BTW: VS can support bump maps now? :shock: AND normal maps?! whoa!!! :D)

I don't have any tutorials to offer tho... but I do have examples. Check out the Arjuna/Hawking Battleship in the Content Development subforum. I hope the links are still working tho. If not, you can prolly ask the devs here for a copy.

Anyway, that ship had four maps: Color/Diffuse map, Spec/PPL map, Bump Map, and Self-Illumination/Glow/Luma map

I also included the XCF file, I think. Which can be opened in GIMP 2. You can check out how I did it, I guess... :S You can always ask me tho ^^

EDIT: oooh, I think Chuck has some good tuts... but I dunno where they're archived. :S
