It's beautiful except for one annoying little flaw:
If you look at his left boot, you'll see that the camo pattern on the boot continues onto the cloak behind it. I imagine this would be hard to avoid, but it is kind of distracting. It does this a bit on the right boot and on the sleeve too.

'Annoying'? 'Distracting'?
Hardly, I'd say. It's gonna be under the table anyway, dont think its really such a big deal.

Thats awesome!

Hummm, have you thought about doing versions of people that are standing up too? I mean, why limit characters to bars? having for example, a weapons salesman, or other random people throughout a base would make for a more intersting enviroment.

This is supposed to be active camo, right? Well, I thought up a handy explanation so that judah's lion doesn't need to do additional work.

The camo is blending in with itself, see?

:P I knew somebody would say that. But you're right, if the bottom half is covered up, you can't even notice it. Great work as always, Cub.

Yes, but I was waiting for a couple to do in one shot ...

I have the pirate btw, so you can take that off the webspace. SO just waiting for something else, and it will be added :-)

@Dan A: thanx
@hurleybird: maybe in the future. I'd like to take some rest from the fixers once I'm done with the last of this batch.
@halleck: I originally thought of it as camo 'mechanisms' inlaid in the fabric, but that's just one possible explanation.

I'm grateful to realize that most of the criticism has been constructive. This is indeed a rare thing as forums go.

If geocities gets stupid again, http://www.geocities.com/cubofjudahslion/VS, then look for the zipped file (reposted for your convenience.)

Not to be mean or anything but would it be possible to make characters without all the cartoon black outlining to make it a bit less cartoonish look.

But I do indeed like them.

The cloak zip file seems corrupted. It seems maybe the upload choked? (I've tried downloading multiple times, same error each time)

Uploaded it again (http://www.geocities.com/cubofjudahslio ... -fixer.zip). Try directory only if direct link refuses to work. If it STILL doesn't work, I may try something else.

Tried direct link, tried directory .. neither works.

Code: Select all

[daniel@millpot dantemp]$ unzip CloakV2-fixer.zip
Archive: CloakV2-fixer.zip
warning [CloakV2-fixer.zip]: 1 extra byte at beginning or within zipfile
  (attempting to process anyway)
file #1: bad zipfile offset (local header sig): 1
  (attempting to re-compensate)
inflating: CloakV2-fixer.psd bad CRC d8744127 (should be ec0379d3)
Maybe just upload the .psd? :-)

Well, geocities won't let me upload a PSD because of the extension, so I renamed it to .ZIP (without compressing, just rename back to .PSD.) Location is still http://www.geocities.com/cubofjudahslio ... -fixer.zip.

*almost*

The .psd now loads properly in Gimp, but it seems there is a problem with the blue channel of the top layer (the other channels do not display this artifact):

Say that the camouflage makes him invisible to blue light and throw the blue channel away ;)
