0.5.1.r1 release is Ready
Re: 0.5.1.r1 release is Ready
Maybe it pulled 1.42 for some reason? I could try a clean reinstall again.

Yep, it was set fo 1.42 (deb dependencies are horrible - I much prefer RPM). I added 1.46 and as soon as it finishes building I would love for you to try a clean reinstalllog0 wrote:Maybe it pulled 1.42 for some reason? I could try a clean reinstall again.
Re: 0.5.1.r1 release is Ready
Still asks for 1.42. Just guessing but xUbuntu_11.10/Packages has no libboost-python1.46.1 entry.
I should have created a bug not spam the forum, sorry.

Ok, done for 11.10. Just give it some time to replicate to the mirrors.
Re: 0.5.1.r1 release is Ready
Re-installation has been successful, no further issues so far.

Re: 0.5.1.r1 release is Ready
Hi just installed the 0.5.1.r1 release from suse's repository but does anyone know where to find the mesher program or do i have to uninstall the .rpm installation and compile the SVN source in order to get it?

Re: 0.5.1.r1 release is Ready
They have it in /usr/bin/vegastrike/mesher. Many VS binaries conflicted with other openSUSE binaries, so I had to move them out of /usr/bin, leaving a wrapper shell script in /usr/bin/vegastrike.
EDIT: I think. It's libexecdir, which I think is /usr/bin, it may be /usr/share/bin - just try them both

o.k found mesher, it was in usr/lib/vegastrike which seems and odd place for executables to be stored

There was a reason for it - I forget which
Edit: oh, yes, packaging guidelines. Mesher may be an exception though...

Hi!
We just had an oops! with the server so the last four months of forum activities is now in cyberspace heaven. (gone...)
The list in the first post needs to be updated again.
I found this archive for Ubuntu12.04
http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... ntu_12.04/

Re: 0.5.1.r1 release is Ready
I just re-updated all the links. Beware, opensuse links are linking to opensuse's "games" repo, which includes a lot more games than just VS. Just a heads-up.

Re: 0.5.1.r1 release is Ready
I just removed a few repos for very old distros, quite unused based on download counters, because the OBS is having storage shortage and the admins asked:
- Debian 5
- Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10
- Fedora 15

Re: 0.5.1.r1 release is Ready
Hey folks, I finally got around to installing 5.1.r1 and I followed klauss' instructions in the first post. All the file information is unpacked from the tar files into my home folder and I can look at all the material. So my stupid question is, how do I actually play the game? Note: I'm currently running Fedora 14 and still have VS 0.5.0 installed. I originally installed 0.5.0 from the yum repositories so I never got to experience this before.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: 0.5.1.r1 release is Ready
You have to build from source, following wiki instructions for that.
Then drop the resulting binary (vegastrike) into the data dir you unpacked, and run it from there.

Re: 0.5.1.r1 release is Ready
I'm recieving errors that the release key is out of date (Expired as of 05-01-1013). Whether I am simply doing something wrong upon my installation, or whether it is out of date. I'd much appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

OBS handles that. Perhaps it failed to renew them. I'll have to tell them to check it out.Djakk656 wrote:I'm recieving errors that the release key is out of date (Expired as of 05-01-1013).
