Glut - deprecated?

Post by strook »

Hi there I plan glut to be deprecated, that means you must use the SDL to compile vegastrike -not a difficult task, since SDL is ported on all aimed systems and easily downloadable and compileable.

This is cause the SDL offers rendering ogre windows.

Maybe I could create a fallback code to use the old vegastrike code without seamless flight if using glut.

I think that it will most likely be depreciated in the main trunk as well.As you have noticed most of it`s functionality is provided by the SDL libs now.

Enjoy the Choice :)

i rethought the whole thing: glut can be used, cause rendering output will still be made by vs . until we move completely to ogre, maybe if there will be a better implementation of it.
but we don't need to do that it's too much work for nothing.
