Any way to change my starting ship?

I'm curious to simply see and tryout a broadsword or Stilleto... neither of these however can be bought until I finsh the main campaign if I understand correctly...
Is there a game file I can edit to either alter the game so I start with a broadsword rather than a tarsus in the beginning, or simply edit a file that allows me to buy stilleto/broadsword without having to finish the campaign first?
I know how to edit the various CSV files, etc.. but I simply can't figure out which file and where I would need to edit this.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
