It seemed like every major jump point I went to today had a major battle happening between everyone, retros, pirates, confeds, ect. I never seen anything like this and I've beaten the game already once. It was crazy but it got worse but good. I made over a million bucks today in about 3 hours using a galaxy. Its got everything, tacyon (sp?) cannons and turrets and proton missles. First bad thing is I ran into retros and pirates in every area I went. Nothing bad just 2 or 3 at a time, just annoying.

At one point I was running contraband (its how I made most of my money) and for the first time in forever the confed searches me and attacks me. 1 stiletto and 3 gladius. I unloaded my protons on the stiletto and one of the gladius and destroyed them and managed to take out the other 2 while taking some damage to my armor.

On another run I ran into 4 retros attacking a taurus well normally I would just keep going but I have a soft spot for a taurus in need. Well I got to help and manage to destory 2 of them and then the idiot in the taurus rams me. He knocked out my damn shields most of my armor and my forward cannons. I launch the last of my protons and destroy the other ship. Luckly my repair droids got one of my cannons back along with my shields and I was able to knock out the last ship. By the end the freaking taurus was almost 20k away. Nice he left me to get slaughter while he ran lol

Finally the last bad fight I got into was I ran into midgar and there was a bunch of retros and pirates fighting well, they set aside their differences to fight me. It was like a endless line of talons shooting at me it was 6 or 7 of them I knocked out a bunch pretty quick cause of my protons again. but they still gave me a whooping. If I known today was going to be like this I would have used my centurion

Yeah i have days like that, but then again i fly a demon so things like that are a breeze.

Today i had the complete opposite. I flew through 23 systems before i found a hostile pilot.

Also, how do you like the Torps? I think the DF's are slightly better than Torps.

I've had days of nothing too It was just wierd, I saw rantdom people attack cap ships too. Its fun to sit back and watch a cap ship destroy talons and what not

I love the torps. I can fire as quickly as I can and they cause alot of damage. It just takes a little skill and mostly luck to hit a target. 2 can take out most talons

i fly a demon so i usually carry torps. I think in privateer Remake: Parallel Universe we have changed the torp values so that the torps bypass the shield like the old WC games so on would be enough to take out a talon.

Bad day? Well, I recently took an escort mission (in Troy, with a slightly upgraded beginning Tarsus - L1 reactor, tungsten armor and hull, dual neutron guns)... Supposed to be protecting a Galaxy from pirates. Kilrathi pirates were, of course, not specified. I somehow managed to destroy all the ships (two heavy and three or four medium fighters), but the Galaxy didn't make it halfway through the battle and I had to limp back to Hector with damaged engines.

Everything I fly uses torps, I equip autotracking on them too which makes them much easier to use. I use my galaxy for cargo runs since it has the biggest cargo hold of the normal ships and can still defend itself pretty nicely. I like using my centurion for the missions. I never bought a demon yet I'll have to hack one in and see whats so special about them

If I download the PU will I be able to keep my current ships and money?

Sure, though PU has some minor rebalancing in some of the stock ships, but you just won't have those rebalances until you sell your ship and buy it again.
