This is what I proposed initially in Zool's Rebalance.
Light ships, including the demon be able to mount up to level 3 shields and reactors. This would be offset by having a limited amount of space to mount the rest of your equipment. I do not wish to alienate all the demon pilots by messing up their favourite. So lets ask the question.
This poll will be open for the next 7 days.
Thanks Everyone.

Re: The Demon in Zool's Rebalance
When I loose my Demon, it is not because my Level 1 shields failed. It is because the accumulated shield leakage started giving me critical hits.Zool wrote:Light ships, including the demon be able to mount up to level 3 shields and reactors.
If you do not change the 0.67 shield efficiency, then there is no point to the bigger shields. If you reduce the leakage, you have removed the principal weakness of this ship. It would be unbalanced.
If there were changes to the Demon, I would want to mount (2xspeed & 3xthrust & 3xmanoeuver) enhancements. That sort of change makes the Demon better at what it already does well.

Sorry, could you please explain what "accumulated shield leakage" means?Shissui wrote:It is because the accumulated shield leakage started giving me critical hits.
And with the shield efficiency factor, which way does it work? Less than 1 is stronger or greater than 1 is stronger?

The demon has a shield efficiency of 0.67Zool wrote:Sorry, could you please explain what "accumulated shield leakage" means?Shissui wrote:It is because the accumulated shield leakage started giving me critical hits.
This means that roughly 1 damage of every 3 goes through to armour even if your shields stay up.
Most ships have an efficiency of 1.0, but the light fighters (only) have less. With an efficiency of 1.0, damage does not go through to armour until you run out of shields.
I am not sure what would happen if you increased the efficiency above 1.0, but it *should* be equivalent to 1.0.

That would be a different question & thus a different poll.Gavinfoxx wrote:I vote that all ships have their shield efficiency improved to 1.0...
For my part, I have learned not to mind the shield (in)efficiency.
It provided a very strong object lesson in how to dodge.
