Post by Tscheesy »

Since update to edgy, i can't run Privateer anymore - stops before the splash screen is loaded.
the vs-engine is running fine with all graphics ...

?? is there any bug reported . shall i wait for the final kubuntu ??

This may be the source of your problem "libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3" so time for an apt-get of the compatibility libs this from the wiki.

Code: Select all

Debian: See if you have /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6. If not, install package called "libstdc++6" which should give you that lib. Then you need to do a symlink for it to work: "ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3".
if this does not work pls post again 8)

Though i would do the obvious and Google"../../src/xcb_lock.c:62: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) - (dpy->request)) >= 0)' get some links to the Ubuntu forums about an error in the 3D driver http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2345992

hope gives you some direction to go in.

the privateer shell script shows no binding of libs so unfo this doesn't help, perhaps it happend during update when i accepet the overwriting of my configs.. looks for me like the system lost user made lib-links..

does privateer save lib links in a common linux place ?? so i think i will have do reinstall only if someone would know these links destroyed..

thanks anyway

Great as to why remember that in Linux the video drivers are actually a kernel module so any change in that section's interface affects video and since the problem was not just VS a patch to the kernel was probably the best solution 8)
