Hi there,
has anybody worked out how to get the hatswitch operational?
Whatever I play around with vegastrike.config - the hatswitch seems not to be recognized at all.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Saitek controller as well (p880 gamepad) and I couldn't get the d-pad to work on its own, but saitek has it's own programming software (works kinda like joytokey, which you could use as well) that I use to have it accept that input (from the d-pad) as whatever the key assigned to the particular function is.
check http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/down/drivers.htm for the software

Thanks a lot for the quick reply. I have tried the Saitek software and it works mostly fine, but unfortunately the combination of certain joystick movements (yaw, pitch or roll and simultaneously pressing the hatswitch) causes the PC to crash) makes it dangerous to use. Might be a Windows XP problem.
Sorry for the delayed answer - my DSL modem was damaged during combat.

well, you could try this:
http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/Jo ... ersion.htm
that is a program that does something similar, but it isn't quite as refined as Saitek's own program (i.e. the commands you can set are not as complex, but this program should work with any gamepad/joystick), but it may help with that crashing problem (that is, if it happens only when you use saitek's program)
