I think you ought to coordinate with the devs. If you do now a personal solutions to problems which don't fit in the world plan, your effort is wasted in the end. If you are willing to do all this work, you might as well cooperate with the devs from the beginning. Eh, I'm just doing it to improve my own experience, I just offer it to others that also may like it. If the devs want help though, I can oblige, insomuch as my knowldge of the VS engine goes, anyways.
