Can't start PU...

Can't start PU...

I recently downloaded Parallel Universe via Tortoise svn, and can't start it...I get to main menu, press new....game is loading for a little while, I just see stars amd green cross in the center of screen and then, the well-known windows error message.

Tried redownloading, changing options...still the same.

I looked at stdout file, and it always end with this...

First of all, you're in the wrong forum. Please check the PU forums in my signature.

The output you showed is standard within the console tracker. We'll need more info, best the whole stderr & stdout, as well as your system/OS specs.

And finally there is a chance that a malfunctioning SVN is currently online, but updates happen daily so stay tuned.

all looks normal except:

I'm not sure if this is normal. I don't play PU at all...but it doesn't look good. maybe there is files missing in the data directory or something got corrupted :? but if you redownloaded and its still the same that can't be the problem :? Your pc is fairly standard so I don't think that would be the issue.

Yeah...so in conclusion I got nothing. you could try deleting the place where all the saves are kept and having the game remake it. (sorry not a windows guy either so I don't know the folder name). It may be a problem with the save file New_Game.

Good luck getting this resolved. I hope someone more knowledgeable than me comes by :wink:

512 MB ram could be difficult... Try to switch off shaders in the options menu.

Make sure you got XP Service Pack 2 or above installed.

Uh? Could you run a SVN update? You might be missing parts of units.csv
