hull texturing..

Need help testing contributed art or code or having trouble getting your newest additions into game compatible format? Confused by changes to data formats? Reading through source and wondering what the developers were thinking when they wrote something? Need "how-to" style guidance for messing with VS internals? This is probably the right forum.

Ok.. recently, what I realized was, that my most recent ship texture model look quite cartoonish. and looks pretty much the same old same old. So my skinning skills are a bit rusty. The best thing I can so is, draw black and white lines, bump map, then "grain merge" effect with the colored metal texture. Yes I use GIMP.

What I am currently looking for is to try to find a new method on how to create metal panel textures.

perhaps they are a bit complicated to do.

I think there are some links on the wiki but they seem to be old.

I can just keep dreaming! Just really don't know if I posted this twice or not. I ran a forum search and didn't come up with any results.
