2 Questions.
1. What is the difference between the unit.csv and master_part_list.csv with regards to the mass. Which one does the game read?
2. Did we still want to split up the unit.csv sheet into a few, one for ships, stations, upgrades etc as discussed http://dev.vega-strike.org/r/10/ ?

Re: Unit.csv and master_part_list.csv
Hmm, experimented a bit with those some years ago. Not sure anymore, but iirc units.csv is the one that the game engine uses and master part list is for trade only.

Re: Unit.csv and master_part_list.csv
Not quite. If it is not in MPL, it cannot be purchased, period. All upgrades must have an entry in MPL, or only code can implement them. At least that has been my experience.

Re: Unit.csv and master_part_list.csv
masterparts is exclusively about cargo and upgrades. I.e. it's mass & volume of the stuff you purchase, used only for cargo/upgrade volume and ship mass and for generated cargo container's mass when you dump it. units.csv affects, well, physical units and modification of the same. That is, it needs tracking to keep equal, not sets automatically.
