extree speed bug

Sorry don't have the std files...
while running on win XP
Any time I land at a planet, during the next launch, my speed increase from where it last left off, with my joystick throttle at full, and 5 landings i was at 10000 plus ! :shock:

P.S. I am a programmer, and in need of work.

The same thing happened to me, mine shot down to negative 32700, then at full throttle, it goes to postitive 32700....

Yes this is a known bug due to data with incorrect masses, causing it to think you had the wrong mass, and sent you off flying.

We will hopefully fix this by 0.4.0 :) I don't like this either :)

I'm actually not exactly sure. We problably just have to scale down some value somewhere in the physics collision code. It probably is just multiplying bu some small number to scale it down.

ya there's a value in vegastrike.config that can be changed to reduce collision speed.... I don't remember the value but it's prolly collision_bounc_scale or something in the physics section

also... you said you're looking for work--as in work on VS? :-) there are so many things to be done here lol :-)
maybe familiarizing yourself with the code is a good start :-)
finding a bug you want to fix

or a small feature (like making ecm betteR)
