Right now, i have two Controllers at home, a LeaderShip Gamer Gamepad. 2 axis 2 4axis-analog sticks, tons of buttons :D (USB/PS2 connectors it looks just like a PS2 pad) a Very good Gamepad and a old Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro (gameport).
After i solved some game port/alsa/config issues. Both controllers work perfectly with VS.the only thing i need to do is configure the Hat switch and remapping the buttons for more useful stuff than defaults configs. :wink:

The wiki has a lot of configurations already designed for MS Sidewinder... have you checked those yet?
