well i've tried the
# apt-get install vegastrike vegastrike-data vegastrike-music

but recieved this message

what can i do???
i've played the game in somo friend's computer under mandrake, that's so much easier to install but i don't want to change from debian cause of this problem.
well i really like your game and like to congratulate you all developers for the good work, keep on with it.
i'm not gonna quit untill i can play it in my computer, and buy my ships and jump to different places in vega's universe.

try compiling it yourself

you need python2.2
I have debian-woody and it works fine on my machine when I apt-get install python2.2 and python2.2-dev

at the risk pression the patience of you all people
but i'm just i user that don't know how to do this kind of thing hellcatv.
what can i do to learn how to do this?
i don't want to go to mandrake, i appreciate all the help that you can give me,
