If you try the alpha version in the feature request section, then please copy it into your normal vegastrike distribtion (overwriting the AI directory especially and the dll's and exe) and try out the new upgrades
hopefully they work more intuitively than before (only showing one engine downgrade rather than everything lower than the one you have)
also you can press shift-M to try out the new insystem map and it shows your status with the factions too I think
this is very alpha code so be SURE to report any bugs you encounter or they may stay until the final release

I mixed the contents of minimalistB into my VS directory, and it works pretty well!
Except for the Shift-m map. When I try that out, VS crashes.
The last few lines of my stderr.txt, in case that helps at all.
