I'm not sure if this can be considered a bug, but with SVN (last rev) on my beloved Rlaan starship the cockpit isn't shown any more, as you can see in the picture below. I agree that in stable version's view Rlann's cockpit was a bit intrusive, but now there's not a viewfinder so it would be hard to fight without autotracking.

I'm not sure what do you want (because i can't remember how stable looks), but
1) fugly metal planks weren't here for very long and
2) pressing "Cockpit::Inside" when you're already in usual forward view toggles between standard and specific HUDs. Rlaan's is sort of fun, but doesn't display extra text like Combat Mode and Inertial Toggle states.

2) I didn't find that on the Wiki and neither by myself, it's very useful and lets me fly with my favorite ship anyway...
1) Rlaan's cockip was different, there weren't ugly bars, but it's not that important.

i dont even have ANY cockpits on the svn version.
did i miss something?
0.5.1 crashes all the time, so thats not an option...

Cockpits where turned off in the svn config file as none of the then interior views was very good artistically so it seemed better to have none at all.But if you want to try them out have a close look at vegastrike.config can't remember of hand which variable to change.

hmmmm, cockpits for my chosen detail lvl is set to "true", wich doesent seem to have any effect tho.

The cockpit files (data/cockpits/something.cpt) have to reference the mesh as well.
And only a handful of cockpit types do.
