No Sound

Post by CmdrMargan »

Hi All,

Various OS's - 7, Vista, XP.
From about SVN 12950'ish can't be precise (currently 12996).
Various PCs from a HP Elitebook to Sony Vaio from Intel Mobo to Giga-Byte Mobo.

There is no sound anymore.

Thanks.

Margan.

Sounds trivial, but are you sure sound is enabled in config? I am currently running build 12996 on several computers, and have sound on all of them.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, setup.exe shows:-

Sound: All Sound
MusicAndVolume: High Volume

It did work, once, but doesn't now. As I indicated in my initial post, I have tried installing via SVN (clean install) on many different "Windows" platforms. I don't think it is a hardware problem, more likely something I am doing or not doing.

I think I will have to back rev and come forward until it stops working again (if it does). That might reveal a clue.

BTW Vegastrike 0.5.0 is fine.

Thanks from a very baffled,

Margan.

Make sure you don't have multiple vegastrike.config files. I haven't had this issue in Windows (yet) but it happened to me in Linux - setup would write the config file in a location, and vegastrike would read a different config file located somewhere else.

Hi,

I think I have solved it :D

I ran:

oalinst.exe

from the bin directory.

I didn't know I had to :?

Best wishes and a Happy New Year to all,

Cmdr Margan.
