So...I've been trying out VS SVN 12613. It works well at max detail without shaders, but once I enable shaders, it goes blackscreen in main menu and then I get runtime error. But my GPU should support shaders, I have them enabled in another game without problems.
Running on laptop, Intel i3, 4 GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon 5470, 512 own memory. Win 7 64 bit.

Further investigations revealed that in newer ATI drivers, OpenGL shader supporet is broken. That is what I suppose is behind the issue.

As the FAQ says, when you have graphics issue distrust your drivers first. VS has a history of bug reports relating to faulty drivers more than real bugs.
