Textures and Bases Gone

Post by programmerandrew »

IDK if this is a bug but what happened to the texturing on the Schroedinger, Watson, and all the Aeran Ships?
Furthermore, Aeran Bases are just an empty mass of space with ton of turrets... although it does make them a lot easier to dock at :)
The Commerce Center also Dissapeared (SVN Rev. 12941)

Edit: The Issue with the Aeran Bases has been fixed

Which graphics card and system are you using? Are you playing from a new or a save game?

Indeed, this card seems to not have either enough memory or sufficient texturing units. See also this topic.
And thanks for keeping the Compatibility list up-to-date. :)

Really? Texturing worked on 0.5.0...

So maybe it's the effect of techniques and one of the coders should have a look on it.

Would it have anything to do with Cinamut?

Definitely not, as CineMut is not active in VS the game, since no single unit uses this shader(s) so far.
There are other things that fubared with techniques at this point in time, but as long as klauss is disappeared there's not much point in talking about them.

The shader compile errors are pointing to graphics card/driver combo not supporting the texturing. It's something the devs should have a look into.

Good to hear you figure it out. Which is the version that is working. Would be good to update that in the compatibility list.
