Restocking weapons

Post by arbuthnot »

Shot off 4 Friend or Foe missiles from my Derivative tonight. Back at base I was unable to purchase available replacements, but could buy Dumbfires. Having bought 1 to replace an FoF, I was then able to buy an FoF, but only to fit in 1 of the 3 remaining placements.
I thought it a little odd when first fitting out that certain missiles and guns were unavailable to me, even tho' the placements are rated as Medium.
Is this a bug or a feature?
Running on Mac PowerPC G4 Dual core 1MHz Os 10.3.9.

That does indeed appear to be flacky not sure on the cause and it may be different the next time you restock.

Enjoy the Choice :)

Hmm. Could be something related to mount point volume values.

Alas, possibly. If it helps:
Derivative, stock model
Mountpoints 5-8 originally stocked with FoF missiles
Mountpoints 5-6 now hold 2 Dumbfires
FoF for sale (white highlight) but can't be positioned in mountpoints 7-8, so filled with Heatseekers.
In the interests of science, I went out and shot off the lot.
Come back in and all mountpoints can now be filled with FoF again.
Odd.
Keep it up - your excellent work will be remembered.

I have had this problem as well. When you empty a missile pylon you cannot reload it with the same type of missile without first purchasing a different type. I can't recall when I first came across it but I believe it's been around for a while.

On a similar note, I put 4 ion bursters on a llama in 0.5.0. I was only able to buy ammo refills for the ones in slots 1 and 2 (which wasn't really a big deal, since it would take a looong time to use up the initial 10,000 rounds of ammo per gun).
running (I finally got a new computer so I can play VS again!):
ubuntu linux 8.04
AMD Athlon XP 2 GHz
1 GB RAM
GeForce FX 5200

I have also seem both of these problems. I think the exact same thing happened to me with a llama and ion bursters :?

I know this probably not the thread for this but...

Talking about ammo rack sizes.

Getting out of ammo in a fire fight should be a actual possibility with at least some guns.

10,000 ammo for ion busters is just too much... maybe 1000 was a more resonable ammount so it really has to be refilled from time to time.

Not just ion buster maybe other guns could be changed too.

Any ideas on this issue?
