Obnoxious swarm behavior in current SVN

Post by Miramor »

I think this has been mentioned before, but here goes...

Over the course of the game, a player tends to pick up an entourage of hostile shuttles and cargo transports, typically Uln and Dgn Citizen. These ships cannot attack the player (other than by ramming); however, their numbers can build up to several dozen very quickly, and this slows the game down by an enormous factor. Furthermore, no attacks on Uln and Dgn Citizen ships are needed in order to generate these swarms. As the game progresses, this swarming behavior can get to the point of being game-breaking for people with older or low-end hardware.

If you destroy a pirate(s) the more pirates you shoot down the longer your parade of uln hostile citizens

I don't like it but there it is I think this is coded into factions xml file
