Planets look like squares

Post by ad267 »

I had a space station blow up and turn into a square, and a sun that looked like a square too while playing today with the latest svn on linux.

I also experienced the problem where the background image inside a space station is messed up and looks like a bar tender.

I've attached screenshots.

What's your video card and which driver are you using for it as they look like driver artifacts.

Enjoy the Choice :)

perhaps this has something to do with pyramid's texture naming and such changes. It's been suggested that strange issues occur when missing textures can't be fallen back on.

My video card is nvidia gforce 6600 gt and I'm using the 100.14.19 version driver.

I haven't been playing much, just played for a while today after updating the svn and noticed this.

Thanks for reporting this problem

the problem had to do with the new mpeg code which was setting the default AnimatedTexture base class' nameless texture to 0 (a legitimate value) rather than -1 (an illegitimate value)...this resulted in various textures piling up in the oft-freed 0th spot.
Anyhow we've fixed it--feel free to update and you shouldn't have more issues

if you do let us know
