All ships become incapable of jumping ("Low Energy"

Post by Miramor »

Every once in a while, all my ships become completely incapable of making intersystem jumps. The relevant part of the display gives "Low Energy" as the reason; however, the problem is not fixable by refueling or adding larger capacitors and reactors (even ridiculously large ones). As far as I can tell, there's no way around this - I just have to start a new game.

Is it possible that the SPEC capacitor is damaged as that is the relevant one for jump energy.

Enjoy the Choice :)

One of my milspec ships once had not enough spec capacitance to jump, which seems odd b/c its a milspec but it had just enough extra space to upgrade it

That's what I figured, but looking at the upgrade/repair screen shows no damage... anywhere. And this happens to all my ships at once, in one go.

That does indeed sound suspicious so what set of things sets it off might take note of what you were doing leading up to the event.

Enjoy the Choice :)

Another question to ask: did this happen right when you updated the svn?

Nope, just kind of out of the blue. Though I think I may have been messing with milspec packages on one of my ships, just before it happened, in both cases.

I have been avoiding mil-spec for awhile now it's no wonder i have not seen this. One weird thing that is happening to me is getting the "bong" of a shield hit and no ship close enough to actually attack me.i always do the look around just in case but nothing.

Enjoy the Choice :)

I think these are battle sounds very FAR from you but in the same system.

Maybe if sound faded with distance this would be solved. :?:

This is very annoying since some weapon hit sounds like mass drivers are VERY bad. Some weapon sounds also have this sound witch should be replaced. (someday)

And it's VERY annoying !

Yeah. I got this and was able to fix it by selling and buying new FTL capacitors. Took a couple tries tho. Happened after I took a beating from some capships. Maybe it had to do with damage to the component being repaired incorrectly. :?
